Kitchenaid Cookware Reviews – A Help or Hindrance?

KitchenAid is not the most popular brand that we have looked at on this site, but their stainless steel set is still in the top 15 best selling cookware sets on Amazon.com right now and has a distinctive look that separates it from the rest of the cookware we have looked at, so it deserves some attention.

This company has been around since way back in 1919 when they introduced a popular stand mixer, and their stand mixers are just as popular today as they were back then, taking 7 out of the first 10 slots in the Amazon bestseller list for that category! They seem to sell everything now from ovens to dishwashers to coffee makers, but there is one thing we have noticed about almost everything they sell… they all have a distinctive style which helps to set them apart from their competitors.

Take their stainless steel Gourmet Distinctions set for instance which you can see to the right. Now other sets have fancy multi-cladding or silicone handles etc to set themselves apart, but their pans are shaped exactly the same as everyone makes them. If you look in the picture to the right though you can see this set is different and each piece has a distinctive look which will make it a talking point in the kitchen. The saucepans and the cooking pot all have a slight bell shape to them which really makes them stand out.

That isn’t the only thing they have going for them though, at just $150 right now for a 10 piece set (3 saucepans, one cooking pot, 2 skillets and appropriate lids) then it is excellent value for money. Each piece also has not just an aluminum core in the base like others at this price range have, but it mixes aluminum and copper for even better performance, and you can see the distinctive orange finish that mixture causes to the base of the pan too which is another nice visual touch.

The KitchenAid cookware reviews for this set are excellent, with 48 out of 55 people on Amazon loving it enough to give 4 or 5 stars out of 5, the only problem seems to be someone saying they had leaking rivets on theirs, but the water level shouldn’t reach the rivets or you are probably overfilling the pan and it will boil over anyway!

They do have other sets on offer which are less popular than the stainless steel set above, like the lovely red set to the right. However the problem I have with that set is that it is aluminum with a porcelain enamel coating out the outside, and both the reviews for that set, and for any other set with porcelain enameling (no matter which company makes it), all say that the coating is not very durable and will fade and come off.

However if you don’t mind replacing your cookware every few years to keep them nice and colorful then this is a lovely set which includes 3 saucepans, 2 skillets, a saute pan and a cooking pot (plus lids), and not only are they non stick but they have silicone on the handles to stop you burning yourself. They only have an aluminum core in the base though, which is probably why you can get this 12 piece set for the same price as the 10 piece set above.

In our opinion the Gourmet Distinctions set above is a far better buy, but if you do want a colorful set and don’t mind the problems then use the link below to check out this red KitchenAid cookware set:
